African Wildlife Foundation

This site has some great information about African wildlife.
I just found out that African elephants drink 30-50 gallons a day of water,
and consume about five percent of their body weight.
They care for injured or weaker family members, highly social,
they are a matriachal society. When a baby elephants tusks push
out about five to six inches, this becomes uncomfortable for the
feeding mother, and she weans the baby.
Perhaps in a documentary on the television once, they said that
elephants live for up to sixty years.
