Guess we are starting to gear up for the coming winter.
The thing is with the UK, is that at least where we live, it snows, then freezes, and turns that layer into ice, then it snows again, and now you have a very treacherous sub layer. Glad they put out the salt on the roads, but the trouble is that on the small side streets, especially in London, there does not seem to be a program of laying down something to make the pavements less slippery.
It used to be that people spread ashes from the coal fires out in the streets.
Of course we don't use coal fires much any more. And people are concerned about clearing the snow from their front paths and the pavements in front of their house because, if someone slipped and became injured, they might sue.
Well, here we go again. Snow and cold on the way, personally, I think it is a great time of year.
