The trouble with the digital age, and if you are a web master or programmer, is that mistakes are immediately sent around the world. And once sent, it's sent, there is no "undo" or "unsend" button. Especially five days before the big result, there is no way that the particular competitor could be untainted. In the US, they would probably be sued, however unintentional the error.
