BBC News - A winning design?

Peter Blake is really great, we saw his touring sixties bus a year or two back at the design centre in Islington. He is a good, clear, understated British Pop Artist.
A credit to the county's culture, not a big flamboyant figure, but a good bread and butter, hard working painter. It is in a way unfortunate, that he is generally labelled as the painter of the Beatle's album cover, however, it brought him a great deal of fame, and also, there are not so many painters still going who were famous in the period of the pop art movement in the 1960's. Some of his paintings could recently be seen in the west end in London at the Waddington Galleries, we particularly liked the dry humour, the careful and precise use of paint and the intentionally muted colours infused with a dry wit and an underlying story. Great painter, check him out.
