Prince Harry and the Arctic Trek

Prince Harry and the Arctic Trek

this was for the first three days of training, and he then accompanied the
group of wounded veterans for the first five days of the trek.
The prince is joining the hike in his role as patron of the Walking With the Wounded charity.

It's hoped the trek to the Pole will raise two million pounds to help injured military personnel.

One of the soldiers quietly commented during the program that you are aware that Harry is

an officer, Harry was in the room behind the interview and poked his head out:
"I heard that" giving a bit of a chuckle to all.

Prince Harry in the snow

This was on the BBC just a few nights ago, and actually, for a program that was basically
about getting ready for the big trek, packing supplies and getting to know the cast, this was
actually a really brilliant program.

The injured servicemen he joined for the early part of the trek had already overcome huge obstacles to be there on the ice with him. They included 30-year-old Martin Hewitt from Cheshire, a captain in the Parachute Regiment, who was shot on duty.

We would like to seem more programs like this and are glad that Prince Harry is making himselfso available for this epic journey.

More about the UK

The recent riots in London have revealed a number of things in Britain, issues,
attitudes, economic policy, that require addressing.
Cutbacks on policing have been in the air this last year, however, the issues that
they are supposed to protect, still need protecting and cannot be left undefended.
That there is a highly criminal element out there in British society is unarguable,
likely an issue that will not go away, these young criminal looters have little or no
regard for authority, no respect for the law which is laughable, the punishments already
meted out by the courts are incredibly soft, and simply serve to reaffirm that the lack
of fear of consequences by the looters is justified.
There are larger societal issues that need to be addressed for the lost generation of young,
brought up in a highly consumerist culture, while being completely in many ways,
without the means of advancement.

State of the nation.

The London capital seems to be subdued this morning.
additional police made a big difference last night.
Sixteen thousand police were apparently deployed in total with
many local shops closing and boarding up early.
As the politicians have returned from their holidays, they have been
on the recieving end of a degree of scorn from local Brits,
I think we are getting sick and tired of this lawless, destructive
culture that Great Britain has become.
