BBC News - Spitfire redux: The WWII guns firing after 70 years buried in peat

Fantastic, there is a lot of focus this weekend on our heroes from the Great Wars of the last century. We love these acheologoical programs, and especially when history is brought to life. Watch the film clip of the Spitfire gun being fired.
The weapon was dug up from a bog in Ireland where the original plane had crashed, and seventy years later, it has now been fired again.
It is Rememberence Sunday tomorrow, it is the Sunday in November closest to 11.11.11, the eleventh of November being the date the Armistice was signed and agreed signifying the end of World War One, millions of dead from the great wars are brought back to mind. A time to remember.
