BBC News - Today - A friend in need...?

With the backdrop of the Royal Wedding looming in the future, the current news feeding frenzy about Prince Andrew seems to be slipping, and I am sure he is grateful, away from the front pages. Was this actually a big deal over nothing?
The proverbial storm in a teacup?
Andrew and Fergies various activities seem to have hollowed out a niche for them as the careless spendthrifts of the Royal family, Air Miles Andy, and Fergie with her debts. But today there were more voices in the press supporting Prince Andrew, and explaining that his hard work for many years us a business ambassador for Great Britain, actually shows him to be a dedicated hard worker, with a tremendous sense of humor, and willing to rise early to start a day or handshaking and allowing others to bask in the presence of a member of the last of Europes great Royal Families.

Many of his supporters believe he is the victim of an attack at a weak spot in the Royal Family, aimed at ultimately undermining the very idea of government himself. Was he perhaps foolish to allow his picture to be taken with the young 17 year old beauty splashed across the pages, naive, or otherwise.
That being said, do not the Royals have minders, aligned to keep an eye out so that these kind of situations do not occur, and also in this media driven age, we bear in mind that the photo was taken we believe eleven years ago, before tweets and twitter, and Facebook and Youtube became part of the lexicon of daily life. The next generation has to be more aware as never before of the impact of living in a media spotlight this intense.
