Friday Night at River Cottage

Come and join the River Cottage team to celebrate some of the best local produce Dorset and Devon have to offer. Keep me informed >

The evening will start at 7.30pm with a warm welcome and canapes. The River Cottage team will explain our philosophy, the provenance of the menu and how your food has been cooked. Members of the team will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have about what we do at River Cottage HQ.

At approximately 8pm the head chef for the evening will come out and talk through the evenings menu with you, following this, we will serve a delicious four course set menu, featuring produce from our own kitchen garden and a host of local organic growers .  

Example Menu
 

Canapés -
Chorizo and egg mayo on crostini; fennel tops
Locally smoked salmon with herb crème fresh on blinis
Pickled ox tongue; mustard and gherkins
Air-dried ham, chilli and parsley croquettes


Fresh brown crab; winter leaves, fresh baked breads, garlic mayo
Five-root and bacon soup with Cheddar and parsley
Spiced confit pork belly; roast loin; crackling, creamy mash, buttered carrots, pak choi with garlic, ginger and soy
Apple-on-the-bottom crème brulee; lemon shortbread

Coffee, Petits fours 

Time: 7.30pm to 10.45pm

Wine / Drink: We have a licensed bar serving the finest selection of local and organic wines, you are also welcome to bring your own drinks - we do not charge corkage.

Accomodation: Please see our Local Accommodation list, recommended to us by our previous customers.

Age: The minimum age on this event is 10 years of age, Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult, we put these guideline in place for the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all our guests.

Mind you, on this evenings show, the chefs made venison patties with added pork fat and juniper berries, ground with white pepper and salt. Thick patties, that were chock full of fat. The tv chefs cooking is not always the healthiest in the world. Often they say two tablespoons and throw a lot more of whatever it is on the dish.
